Rhythm & Resonance: Voices of the Plaza
Where poetry, music, visual art, and community came together.
On August 8, 2026, Share Inform Enlighten presented Rhythm & Resonance: Voices of the Plaza in partnership with the Wyandanch Plaza Association and the Town of Babylon as part of its summer concert series.
Designed as an interactive arts and community experience, Rhythm & Resonance brought together spoken word, live jazz, visual art, and opportunities for community reflection. Featured poets Emma Desulme, Mandy Wagnac, and Blupoetres shared powerful original works, while New York Jazz Force brought the energy of live jazz to the Plaza. The Legendary DJ Belal added another layer to the experience, using music to set the tone, keep the energy flowing, and connect the different moments of the evening.
Throughout the evening, featured visual artist Andres Gallardo Jr. created an original work of art in real time, drawing inspiration from the poetry, music, energy, and voices surrounding him. Community members—including children—were invited to contribute to the creative process, making the artwork a living reflection of the experience unfolding in the Plaza.
By the end of the evening, what began as a blank canvas had become a vibrant visual record of community expression.
Rhythm & Resonance reflects Share Inform Enlighten's commitment to creating spaces where art becomes a vehicle for dialogue, participation, and connection. By bringing different forms of creative expression together in one shared public space, the program invited community members not simply to attend an event, but to become part of the experience.
The completed artwork remains a lasting representation of that evening—one created through the intersection of art, voice, music, and community.
The story of the painting continues! We are excited to share that prints of the original Rhythm & Resonance artwork by
Andres Gallardo Jr. are planned for release soon. Stay tuned for details on how you can own a piece of this special
community-created experience while supporting the work of Share Inform Enlighten.
